Sefton Parent Partnership's Independent Parental Supporters (IPS) are a group of dedicated volunteers who give their time to help parents become effective partners in their child's education. They are highly professional and have a range of experience and expertise. They offer parents training in ADHD (attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions, that aim to help parents to understand their child's needs and they are happy to support parents individually via casework. The IPSs also run support groups for parents and if you would like to come along to any, please look at the 'Dates for your Diary' page.
In a meeting held on Monday the 19th of May, PPIPS (Parent Partnership Independent Parental Supporters) decided to aim for charitable status and a management committee was elected.
The committee at present stands as:
Chair: Ged Roach (IPS)
Vice- Chair: Tham Lodders (IPS)
Treasurer: Suzanne Farrell (IPS)
Secretary: Christine Sanders & Wendy Colton (PPOs)
A constitution was decided upon as was a child protection charter. We hope to move forward to gain charitable status and increase the support that we offer to parents in Sefton and make PPIPS an active participant in the local community.
